110 years of experience in foundry

The foundry in Csepel was founded by Weiss Manfred in 1911 and has been operating at its current site in the industrial park in Csepel ever since. Until the mid-1960s, as a member of the group operating mainly in the industrial park, his task was to satisfy the casting needs of the associated companies - machine tool factory, custom machine factory, motorcycle factory, pipe factory.

From 1966 onwards, with a major change in profile, its main product line was the production of automotive castings, mainly a six-cylinder engine block manufactured under a German MAN license, but the previous profiles were retained.

From that time until the early 1990s, it became Hungary's largest on-site foundry: with an annual production of 35,000 tons of sheet and spheroidal graphite cast iron, 5,000 tons of steel castings and 1,000 tons of precision castings.

Most of the new procedures related to this field were introduced here for the first time in Hungary. In 1978 the Meehanite license was introduced, which is considered to be the predecessor of today's quality assurance systems.

Earlier markets collapsed in the early 1990s, necessitating a significant capacity reduction and a more stable market environment. In 1995, the foundry was privatized by Universal Automotive Inc (IL) in the United States. The company was owned by the United States until 2004, and since then it has been owned by Hungary again.

The sole owner, Dr. József Sohajda, was the president of the Hungarian Foundry Association for many years, and is a recognized practitioner in university casting engineering.

The foundry has specialized in the production of complex, high-core sheet and spheroidal graphite castings in recent decades. Within this, we have been specializing in the production of pump and machine tool castings since 2003.

Accordingly, a well-trained team of engineers and skilled workers with extensive manufacturing experience has developed. This allows us to be present in the EU and US markets, which are now dominant in our sales.

The company is constantly improving its production and working conditions. The main investments in recent years are:

• 2011: Introduction of a new integrated corporate governance system
• 2012: Construction of a new sample warehouse, renovation of an office building
• 2013: Commissioning of a new material testing laboratory
• 2015: Installation of a new furnace
• 2021: New sand regeneration system
• 2021: New mobile scanner
